Corbi & Sons (UK / Spain): Product Review

The life of the Spanish shoe designer is so steeped in the artisanal processes of bench-made footwear manufacture and craft-based shoe-making, he maintains his own private brand while still acting as design director of one of the world’s biggest footwear corporations. Now a California resident, Enrique Corbi scans the globe for most adept makers, depending on his idea. Taking full advantage of his local knowledge he has recently been drawing from hundreds of years experience in working leather and textiles on the Iberian Peninsula. Recently released are some 1950s style summer espadrilles, heavy leather boots dyed in indigo and alpine biker boots in fur lined sheepskin. Every season there’s a capsule collection offering something special.
